Hi, my name is Rosie Chapman, I am a qualified chartered accountant and I am moving to New York when my contract ends here in Dublin at Christmas. I have been approved of an 18 month working visa (which I will cover the full cost of) pending on finding a suitable sponsor. I was wondering if anyone knows of any company who would possibly be looking to hire an accountant at this time. Or even have details of recruitment agencies that would be able to help someone from Ireland in finding a suitable sponsor.

I graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2006 with a BA (Honours) Degree in Accountancy. I then worked for one year in AIB Capital Markets; then in July 2007 I began working in a small/medium sized accountancy firm where I completed my Professional Accountancy exams with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. I remain with this firm until my contract ends this Christmas.

I will be travelling to New York for 8 days at the end of August so if anyone has any information of any opportunities I would be able to meet them during my stay. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can email me on rosiechap@gmail.com

    Thanks,
    Rosie

    Hi all

My name is Finnian and I am a stone mason from Dublin. With my friend Stuart (also a stone craftsman) we recently decided to embark on an adventure, our mission being to provide beautiful, customised carvings on genuine Irish stone.

We created www.celticvirtue.com and we are trying to reach the Diaspora of America.

Unfortunately, our limited funds restrict our opportunity to make our work known to larger populations.

I am sending this message hoping that you could tell other Irish people about our craft and vision!

I am looking forward to your valuable help

    God Bless

I’m planning on staying in New York for a few months after being sworn in in an attempt at finding my entry point into the NY legal profession (extremely optimistic I know!). I have an LLB, LLM and experience in paralegal/legal assistant roles so if anyone could point me in the general right direction of where to even start my search I would be eternally grateful! Thanks guys, Eamonn McDonald

Hi all, my name is Claire. Having recently found out that I passed the New York Bar exams which I sat for the first time in February, I am desperately hoping to move over to NY and fund some work in the legal field. I have existing experience in the NGO sector and working for the Dept. of Foreign Affairs in Dublin. Although my LLM is in international human rights law, I am interested in a range of legal topics, mainly those with a more personal element like criminal, evidence, tort, environmental, constitutional etc.
If anyone can offer advice or knows how best to try and break into the market I would love to know! I’m currently living back in Ireland so it’s a bit tricky to know how to go about things from here.

Look forward to hearing from somebody…anybody! Thanks
