Country Bank is a regional leader in the commercial real estate lending business. Joe Murphy’s father left West Cork a generation ago. As one of five brothers, Joe was the only one to leave Ireland, resulting in Joe having a lot of close relatives still residing in West Cork. Joe is a qualified accountant. He later became involved in Real Estate and Banking. At one point he owned a substantial amount of commercial real estate here in Manahattan. Most of this has since been sold to Donald Trump. He worked for a long time with Drexel Burnham Investment Bank. During the 1990s he was asked to join the Board of Country Bank, and today he owns 60% of the company.
Joe Murphy owns the largest personal collection of Modern Irish Art in the US. He has generously offered to exhibit his collection for us on June 14th. Joe will be on hand personally, along with all the top executives at the bank. Almost half of the banks client base is Irish.
