New website launched
The IN-NYC website was launched in time for St. Patrick’s Day in March. The organisation owes its inception to the vision of former Consul-General for Ireland, Tim O’Connor, current Vice Consul-General, David Healy and Austin Gormley, former Press Officer at the Consulate”. who, in early 2006, began hosting a series of events at the Irish Consulate aimed at attracting young Irish professionals working in Business & Finance, Law, Medicine and the Arts & Cultural communities in the city.
Between early 2006 and early 2007, the Consulate built a database of names from these various professions who attended the events at the Consulate and elsewhere and in March of 2007, IN-NYC was established so that the Consulate’s blueprint could be built into a strong and independent network. Today, we have an official website - with over 150 full-time members and over 600 on our mailing list. New members are joining daily as news of the network spreads.
IN-NYC aims to be the forum through which the ambition, talent and energy of the many Irish professionals working in New York can be harnessed to create a dynamic group that contributes energetically and exponentially to the quality of the professional and social lives of its members and indeed, strengthens the overall economic and cultural relationship between Ireland and the U.S.
