The IN-NYC website was launched in time for St. Patrick’s Day in March. The organisation owes its inception to the vision of former Consul-General for Ireland, Tim O’Connor, current Vice Consul-General, David Healy and Austin Gormley, former Press Officer at the Consulate”. who, in early 2006, began hosting a series of events at the Irish Consulate aimed at attracting young Irish professionals working in Business & Finance, Law, Medicine and the Arts & Cultural communities in the city.
Between early 2006 and early 2007, the Consulate built a database of names from these various professions who attended the events at the Consulate and elsewhere and in March of 2007, IN-NYC was established so that the Consulate’s blueprint could be built into a strong and independent network. Today, we have an official website – with over 150 full-time members and over 600 on our mailing list. New members are joining daily as news of the network spreads.
IN-NYC aims to be the forum through which the ambition, talent and energy of the many Irish professionals working in New York can be harnessed to create a dynamic group that contributes energetically and exponentially to the quality of the professional and social lives of its members and indeed, strengthens the overall economic and cultural relationship between Ireland and the U.S.

From the creators of Les Misérables, commissioned and produced by Moya Doherty and John McColgan of Riverdance comes The Pirate Queen. The story is based on the real-life story of the legendary Irish pirate chieftain, Grace “Gráinne Uaile” O’Malley, who was a pirate, chieftain, lover and mother in 16th century Ireland. O’Malley was one of the last Irish clan leaders to resist the English conquest of Gaelic Ireland. Follow her life as she journeys through the seas of Ireland. Love, honor and her powerful push towards destiny are portrayed in this new musical sensation. Tickets for the Pirate Queen will no-doubt be in high demand.
The first 100 members to sign up for membership to the IN-NYC Network will get two complimentary tickets to the show. Be sure to reserve your place early for best selection and to avoid disappointment. These tickets are selling for over $200 each at face value and were kindly donated to IN-NYC by Moya Doherty and John McColgan.
This event of will take place on Thursday, 29th March at 8.00pm at the The Hilton Theatre, NYC @ 213 W 42nd Street between Broadway & 8th Avenue. http://www.thepiratequeen.com/.
